Estate planning is the process by which an individual determines what should happen to his or her assets upon death or incapacity. This is accomplished by preparing a set of documents which typically include a will, a general power of attorney, a health care power of attorney, and a health care directive. It may also include a prenuptial agreement as well. A Probate Court is primarily responsible for supervising the process after a person has died, but it may also be utilized for other issues while a person is still alive.

I am also a certified Mediator. Mediation is a process which attempts to resolve issues which may arise between parties without actually filing a case in a court of law- A skilled Mediator listens very carefully to both parties and seeks to find some common ground upon which the parties can reach a resolution. There is nothing “forced” within mediation. If mediation is not able to resolve the issues, the parties can still pursue judicial action if desired. Mediation is an appropriate option for most types of disputes.

BrightPath Avon Child Care center, previously Educational Playcare Avon, offers care for up to 238 children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Our state-of-the-art daycare center offers a balance of child-led programming and an award-winning curriculum to suit the essential cognitive, social, and physical needs of children. Our center in Avon is a beautiful facility with oversized classrooms. The classrooms benefit from wonderful natural lighting and colorful interior features.

The Avon center consists of four buildings in the Riverdale Farms Shopping center, only minutes from Rt. 10 on the Avon/Simsbury border. In 1995, we expanded to the entire first floor of the adjacent building where currently our preschool programs are. In 2001 we took over “The Big Red Barn,” a huge building we use for school-age programs and Summer Camp. We expanded again in 2013 and moved our infants and one-year-olds into a state-of-the-art facility previously occupied by the Little Gym. In addition, we completely remodeled our original building, expanding the classrooms for our two-year-olds, and adding indoor playgrounds and staff resource areas as well.
