What will you find there?
Vintage bone china cups & saucers, Irish and British previously loved “jumble sale” items, Connecticut made teapot trivets and slate coasters featuring Celtic patterns, teapots and tea strainers, “bibs and bobs”.
The name CuppaCT tells what we’re all about. “Cuppa”, denotes a cup of tea, particularly in Britain. So there will be tea cups, of course, but also plates on which to serve tea cakes and sandwiches, and teas. CT is a reference to our state. Most of the hand crafted items we offer will be Connecticut made, like tea cozies and Celtic and tea themed aprons, trivets and note cards.
And you can find beautiful little gift baskets of tea related things for your tea loving friends, or assemble one yourself!
This week we also discovered new items, not made in Connecticut, but in keeping with our hope to provide Tea things & things Tea: new tea towels. But not run of the mill tea towels, these are lovely towels based on original watercolours by artist Elizabeth Wade. It was initially her themes that caught my eye and we will offer towels with British literary influences. After all, we thought, who wouldn’t want Alice in Wonderland or Peter Pan or Mary Poppins in their kitchen?
(Look for Alice elsewhere in the shop, she’ll help you plan for your own tea party!)
